About The Author

Darryl Cunningham went to Leeds College of Art (now Leeds Arts University) and is a cartoonist and writer. He lives in Yorkshire.

 

Darryl Cunningham's graphic novel, Psychiatric Tales (Blank Slate), is based on his years working on an acute psychiatric ward. It's a book written with the aim of exploding myths about mental illness, while also telling the story of the author's own struggles with depression and anxiety.

 

Science Tales (Myriad Editions) is a series of cartoon essays on controversial science subjects that include: the Andrew Wakefield/MMR/vaccination scandal, homeopathy, chiropractic, evolution, climate change, and gas fracking.

Supercrash: How To Hijack The Global Economy (Myriad Editions).  A book about the long rise of conservative politics in the Western world. It contains a biography of the novelist and political thinker, Ayn Rand, an overview of her influence on modern politics, and a detailed breakdown of the causes of the 2008 financial crisis. 

Graphic Science: Seven Journeys of Discovery. A book focusing of the lives and discoveries of seven scientists, who for different reasons, have been excluded, discredited, or just plain overlooked. Here’s Antoine Lavoisier, Mary Anning, George Washington Carver, Alfred Wegener, Nikola Tesla, Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Fred Hoyle.
